How to import a WordPress site using Softaculous

Last updated: August 07, 2020

There are a few reasons you might want to connect your existing website via Softaculous – such as automatic updates, backups, or to use the staging and cloning tools.
Before you get started, you’ll need to ensure your website’s files and database already exist in your cPanel account.

  1. Head over to Softaculous Apps Installer section in cPanel and select WordPress from the list. This is often found at the very bottom of your main cPanel page.

  2. Then, click “import” among the tabs on this page.

  3. Choose your domain and protocol from the lists, and hit “import”!

  4. That’s it – now, you can manage your WordPress installation and enable Auto-Updates, cloning, and other management tools from Softaculous!
Click All Installations in the top toolbar (box icon) and then Edit (pencil icon) to manage your site.
