How do I setup my email to point to a third-party provider such as Office 365 or Google Apps?

Last updated: January 18, 2019

You have the ability to point your domain name to a different 3rd party provider such as Google Apps, and Office365.

However, depending on the type of services you have with us, depends on how you’ll set this up.

If you only have your domain name registration with us (no hosting service):

If you have registered only your domain name with us, then you will configure your email to point to your email provider via your MyZuver account.

  1. Login to your MyZuver account.
  2. Click Manage My Domains on your MyZuver dashboard
  3. Select the domain name you’re using.
  4. In the drop down options click Manage DNS.
  5. Select the Free DNS Hosting option.
  6. Then click Add Record and set the record(s) up as per your email providers instruction.
If using Google Apps then you can just click “Add Google Apps MX” button
  7. Repeat Step 6 as required for each record.

If you’re unsure of the records your email provider requires, please login to their control panel or contact their support team.

Please be aware that if you select this DNS preset without a full understanding of how your DNS is set up, your email and web services may cease to work correctly.

Changes to DNS configuration, such as to configure your email setup, may take up to 24 hours to take effect due to DNS propagation, but generally takes about 4-8 hours to propagate.

If you have your hosting service with us (your domain can either be registered with us or elsewhere):

If you have your domain name pointed at a cPanel hosting service with us, you will be able to point your email to your email provider through cPanel. To do this please follow these steps:

  1. Login to your MyZuver account.
You can then login to cPanel by clicking ‘Manage Web Hosting’ and then logging into cPanel by clicking the ‘cPanel’ login button.
  2. Click the Zone Editor icon.
  3. Add the records as per your email providers instruction.

If you’re unsure of the records your email provider requires, please login to their control panel or contact their support team. Please be aware that by changing your domains configuration, it’s existing configuration may cease to function once you initiate the changes.

Changes to DNS configuration, such as to configure your email setup, may take up to 24 hours to take effect due to DNS propagation.

If you have any issues setting up these DNS records, please contact our Australian support team who will be able to assist further.

Alternatively, you can also submit a ticket through your MyZuver account with those records attached and our support team can set them up for you.
